Big Lebowski fans!!!

well these are just quick sketches in my pocket Moleskine's. Walter's head actually looks too small, and the Dude's might be too big. but i really like the caricature of the two.

background artwork

just something i am working on at the moment. cut-out style created in photoshop.

here is a video update. im trying to get the lighting right, without it becoming too distractive. just a bit of atmosphere.

a bit of composition for the next shot. im going for something a bit crude/ surreal/ impossible perspective, to backup my idea.

heres a fresh update. ive submitted the work-so-far to this months 11 Second Club competition. its still a work in progress, but lets just get it in there anyway....aye!!!

monkey animation

here is a blocked stage of my monkey animation.

it is very small at the moment, but i wanted to give an idea of all my movements with a still camera. because the monkey does make use of a lot of space, i may have to consider different/ multiple cameras. but hopefully you get the idea here.

jump animation

here is the finished version to my maya jump cycle, i have used the andy rig, downloaded free on creative crash.com. created by john doublestein!

monkey animation

i have blocked out my scene for the monkey animation. this is only the first pass; i will update with the second pass, which should be a lot clearer and smoother in animation terms!

monkey animation

its been a few days since my last post, however, i really have been pressing on with more character animation. i want to create a scene that gives enough space to freely animate a lively character! using a monkey rig, created by wade ryer , i want to really take advantage of space. using quick, sharp stretched movements, as well as slow, gradual, squashed poses, i hope i can produce a really nice dynamic animation. i will set up simple apparatus for the monkey to anticipate and react to.
i want to bring the monkey into my scene with a run. here are some examples so far; ill be trying to get a fast run finished first, i do not want the monkey to just be standing in the space as my scene begins....make it interesting yeah!!!!!

3d flour sack rig

this is my first attempt at animating in 3d maya! it is the classic flour sack rig created by Belal Ballout .
this test was purely to get a position at Ragdoll Productions as junior animator, and i got it! i had already been working there since august 2011 as a props and layout artist.
